Word nerdery: tips from a tame writer

It's all about them

Businesses often fill websites and corporate profiles with spiels about their company’s history and how great it is – and then wonder why no one reads them, or buys anything.

Here’s the big secret. Your customer doesn’t care about your company. They only care about themselves.

They’re not interested in your new software or where your CEO went to uni. They’re only interested in what you can give them. If they can’t find those benefits quickly, they’ll go elsewhere.

So turn it around. Spout the benefits of that software update. Write about how that CEO will use their industry experience for your client’s advantage. You’ll notice the difference.
